Bill was born on March 11, 1936 in Wheeling, West Virginia. He was baptized while attending church camp in July, 1950. In 1954 he graduated from Wheeling High School.

In 1954 he started a career at the Wheeling Steel Main Office as a level entry clerk. His work with the company took him through various positions in the Accounting Department. He retired in 1996 as Administrator of Invoicing and Accounts Receivable.

Bill married Joan Dickson on January 18, 1955. They have shared 61 wonderful years together. They have 3 children together who have given them 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Their 3 children and 5 of their grandchildren are Christians.

Through the years Bill has been an active member of the church. He has been a song leader, presiding and serving at communion, leading prayer and teaching adult Bible classes. He was also appointed to serve as a deacon at the Warwood Church of Christ in Warwood, West Virginia, at the National Road Church Of Christ on National Road in Wheeling, West Virginia and also at the St. Clairsville Church of Christ in St. Clairsville, Ohio.

Bill stated that he and Joan look forward to serving in any way that they can at the Belmont Church of Christ.
